Publicity photographs for deKoven's operetta "Robin Hood". These photos may represent two different companies: the deKoven Opera Co. and for the Walker-Stevens Co. but we haven't yet identified which are which. We know that Ivy Scott played "Maid Marion" in the touring company. "Robin Hood" toured the USA and Canada from September 1915 to June 1916. This album includes digital scans of an original program, publicity photos and a panoramic cast photo taken in front of the Broadway Theatre, Denver, Colorado.

1906earthquake_06~0.jpg

Photographs taken by Anna Melvina Bartlett in the aftermath of the San Francisco earthquake, 1906. Family tradition says tha Anna, who was living in Seattle at the time, arrived in San Francisco on the first train able to get through. These photos were most likely taken with her Brownie box camera. All prints were made from the original negatives.

Halloween 2007After 30 years of saying "I should decorate this Halloween - it's my favorite holiday." I finally did it. The props were begged, borrowed, scavanged (Goodwill has great stuff!), homemade, and purchased. The result was a big hit and everyone seemed to have a great time. We got about 50 kids which is about 43 more than usual - Yipee! The crew and I can't wait to do it all again next year.

Halloween in Daylight

All the props and sets in the daylight. It's about 4pm and the kiddies are about to show up. You can see the details best with these pictures but the night shots really show the whole effect.

Halloween at Night

n07.jpg

The scene on All Hallows Eve. Yes folks, lighting does make all the difference. I had three green spotlights in the yard: one on the spooky tree greeter, one on the skeleton archeologist and one spotlighting the mummy. Inside the porch there were two orange lights and a variety of orange glowsticks and LED flicker lights both in the open and concealed. The cauldron and the hanging skull had internal lights that changed colors. There was a blue glowstick behind the ghost images in the front window which gave them an eerie glow.
